Brentwood’s moderate climate encourages four seasons of different outdoor sports and recreation opportunities.
A large number of city, county and state parks are in the area, which provide for outdoor sports, hiking, walking, fishing and picnicking. TVA and the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers provide recreational opportunities at numerous lakes in the Brentwood area.
Our local area is home to a large number of professional and college athletic teams. The Tennessee Titans of the NFL and the Nashville Predators of the NHL are the most visible of the professional teams. Vanderbilt, Lipscomb, Belmont, Middle Tennessee State and Tennessee State Universities all have outstanding sports teams playing in the area.
Youth sports are very important for Brentwood families. Brentwood schools offer a variety of sports for students. The schools have championship caliber teams in football, basketball, volleyball, tennis, track, baseball, soccer, rugby, lacrosse, softball, track, hockey and soccer.
For those not participating at the school level, Brentwood Civitan and the Williamson County Recreation Department provide baseball and softball. The YMCA and Williamson County Recreation Department offer soccer, basketball, gymnastics and swimming.
